The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association (PRHTA) 28th Annual Convention & Trade Show held from September 8 – 10, 2014 at the Condado Plaza Hilton concluded a successful three-day networking event with the presentation of the coveted “excellence in hospitality and tourism” awards at the Tourism Industry Superstars Luncheon. This year, the prestigious “Manager of the Year” award in the Restaurant category was presented to Executive Chef Raúl Correa of Zest in the San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel.
“I am honored to receive the “Manager of the Year” Award, said Correa. “It is truly a privilege to be recognized for excellence in restaurant management among my peers in the professional tourism and hospitality community.”
The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association recognizes the stars of the Industry by presenting several awards that exemplify excellence in Puerto Rico’s hospitality. The awards assemble different aspects of its membership and nominations are circulated to all members. The categories included:
- Green Practices Hotel of the Year
- Green Practices Small Inn of the Year
- Most Improved Green Practices Hotel of the Year
- Hotelier of the Year
- Casino Member of the Year
- Allied Member of the Year
- Restaurateur of the Year
- Employee of the Year (in all the above categories)
- Supervisor of the Year (in all the above categories)
- Manager of the Year (in all the above categories)
