Chef Raul Correa Named Among “Top 10 Best New Chefs” in Puerto Rico

Leading Puerto Rico newspaper, GASTRONÓMICO / El VOCERO and editor in chief of food blog dePALADAR, Yaira Solís Escudero, revealed today Puerto Rico’s new generation of chefs. We are proud to announce that Raúl Correa, executive chef of Zest at the San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel, was selected in Puerto Rico’s 2014 “Top 10 Best New Chefs”.
The “Top 10 Best New Chefs” prestigious accolade recognizes local chefs for their exceptional talent and passionate work in strengthening Puerto Rico’s long-standing reputation as the Gastronomic Capital of the Caribbean.
A rigorous evaluation process was conducted by an elite committee of chefs who earned this prestigious recognition in 1997, namely – Xavier Pacheco of La Jaquita Baya; Juan Peña de Fern; Jiovanni Orrias de Monalisa; Pedro Torres de En Boga; Humberto Guardiola of the Catholic University of Mayagüez; Ariel Rodríguez of Augusto’s Cuisine in Miramar; Juan Camacho of Papillon, and Enrique Piñeiro of Mesa 364 – and Yaira Solís Escudero and Augusto Schreiner.
